Eyes

Sun, 03/24/2019 - 18:52 -- Cyrus

Have you ever stared into another's eyes?

It's mesmerising, almost intoxicating.

The colours can be so vivid.

From the brightest greens of ferns and leaves.

To the deepest blues of a lake or the sea.

Or the richest browns of coffee beans or acorns.

They say they are the windows to the soul.

Buts that's a little cliche for my liking.

If one is to peer through them,

they can see an entire world.

I've seen plenty of eyes in my time.

Some stand out more than others.

I always find the greatest people have the most memorable eyes.

It could just be because they are great people,

Or it may be the truest form of beauty.

All I need to know is I found a pair,

That will stay with me forever,

That I can't get out of my head,

That I think of everyday.

Those eyes, glistening with passion.

They are truly the greatest.
