Expectations

Fri, 04/07/2017 - 17:45 -- Jyli

You expect me to take your words to be true.

You expect me to trust you.

You expect me to do what you say

All day, every day.

You want my to ask, “how high?”

When you say ‘jump.’ How sly.

You expect me to do

What you don’t want to.

Expecting me to be a friend

To someone who isn’t mine in the end.

I am sick of your false words

How absurd.

I refuse to listen,

To your promises that are missin’

The true meaning behind them.

When all your words are just a false gem.
