Everything and Everyone

Dear Life,

Aren't you tired of beating me down?
Kicking me when I'm on the ground?
Taking everything I have and throwing it away, so it's nowhere to be found?

Aren't you tired of putting knives in my back?
Throwing me off my track?
Making every day a reminder of everything I lack?

Aren't you tired of giving me the short end of the stick?
Feeding me lies until I get sick?
Laughing in my face after you push me and I want to call it quits?

Well, I am tired of fighting you
Sick of not knowing what to do
I hope you change, but we both know, with you, there is no getting through

Sincerely,
A. Jones
