Everlasting

I'm cold,

Even as the blanket

wraps snugly around me,

Because it reminds me of his embrace,

I'm cold,

Still, as the gloves hug the crevices of my fingers,

Because it reminds me of how he held my hands,

I'm cold,

As I sit next to the fireplace- radiating its warmth,

Because it was the same feeling I had when I rested in his arms,

I'm cold,

As I sit in the rays of the sun,

Because it was the heat and passion of his love I used to bask in,

During the harshest of winds,

It's cold,

Because the sun has set

and with it,

his infatuation.
