The Believer’s Freedom from Sin’s Domination

6 What shall we say then? Are we to remain in sin so that grace may increase?

 

“If“ I sin:

 

 

Do I become enslaved again to the “one” I despise most?

Really I understand he and sin have no dominion over me!

To keep my eyes from this world as though I’m traveling through

at times seems almost impossible although in Christ I’ll be.

 

The essence of faith is to be alive to God.

 

Just to believe that you can trust in His Word.

And live tomorrows to-day as you will in “Heaven,”

To lean on Christ your Savior, delivered from the world.  

Not to get bogged down by the mind, which leaves just leaven.

 

Romans 6:12-13 New English Translation (NET Bible)

12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its desires, 13 and do not present your members to sin as instruments to be used for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead and your members to God as instruments to be used for righteousness.

 

Essential consecration and loving discipline

Levels of obedience then originating in Christ

Being raised from the dead to live forever

should show appreciation for The God of Life.

4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me.

 

 “Abide in me”, says The Lord of Glory.

Don’t hang on to what you need to let go.

I’ll give you the strength to stand in your weakness.

I will always be there and that’s yours to know.

 

“Abide in Me,”  says The Lord of Glory.

Don’t hang on onto what I want to be relinquished.

I’ll be your strength in your time of weakness.

At no time My Love for you will diminish.
