Escape

Harassed by manipulative government

Stricken by paucity; He had an idea, to leave his sanctuaryWas that a possibility? Future of dreams arose and flew by,Chances had been given, couldn’t be received;Everything was controlled, no freedomThis was all because he was a refugee. Rowing from sunrise-to-sunsetHunger, shivers, fear for five days consecutively; He couldn’t believe he had done what he didThe choice of leaving. Finally arriving, love was sporadic in his eyes,Connected and united with family;Nothing could no longer go wrongHe had survived all of the lies.  Trying to bestow itThere was too much at stake; But he never lost hopeNever lost faith.
