An Errant Thought for You

And somewhere between those pictures was the day you left.

It was printed on the seams of the film.

I tied the celluloid around your wrists but it wasn’t enough to keep you.

I weighed you to this ground with my soul but you took flight all the same.

These are burned into my skin like all the other things that I can’t change.
