Enigma

He is cruel in his confusing love

My thoughts are racing

Does he adore me?

I step forward and reach out my hand

Will he retract from my touch?

Soft and sweet he stares deep into my soul

The one I cannot live without

His eyes are piercing green

A smile splashed upon his face

I pray this moment of shared affection will be endless

The warmth of his body vibrates against mine

My heart flutters with pure joy

The chemicals of love rush through my veins

I assume they are rushing through his

As quickly as the moment came, it passes

Suddenly he leaps

His nails are long and sharp

Without warning

A scream emerges from my lips

Blood pours down my arm from his piercing claw

This Jekyll and Hyde I cannot stop loving

No one can understand our unique bond

This handsome beast I call my own

The one I cannot live without

My cat named Max
