Empty Promises and Broken Hearts

You’re nothing but broken promises and an empty heart

And with a heavy feeling inside I wonder if I should let you go

When I push you away you cling tighter

Yet when I cling back you treat me like a burden

I’ll carry you to and from

While I wish you’d return the favor

You say we’ll always be friends

But how could that be true

You make empty promises

And leave me with a broken heart

In agony I wither

I can’t help it, I’m drawn to you

It can’t be helped, I need you near me

When you’re not, I dream the next time you will

I need to stop

Rethink and move on

Because you’re full of broken promises and an empty heart

And your lies are breaking me down
