Empty Glass

Why do I pour?

The pitcher of emotions steadily flowing

into your empty glass,

As I wait for your response from the

taste test of my heart

Just to only hear a "thank you, preciate it"

What sense does that make?

Is it fair that each time you ask,

I work my ass making your Lemonade.

While you have A Seat at the Table, I

carefully select every thought

word, feeling, urge

to add for sweetness.

Or maybe Lemonade is the wrong drink,

In that case let me find the thing

That will make you think outside of your mind,

outside of your past,

your experiences

Maybe it'll help you understand my feelings

and after gathering the best grapes in the land,

Crafting the finest wine ever,

It still wont be enough, no

Never

Possibly something strong yet,

smooth will do the trick

Something that can slur you into another

state of mind...

Which will never work since you have

More Issues than Vogue

and yet I will still continue to squeeze

as many Southern Peaches

to make you drunk off my words

Hoping to influence you with the

Liquor of my heart

Although, we should build Sandcastles

I mean at least thats a team effort?

Or am I asking for too much, maybe...

Maybe next time,

I'll pour and as the cup runs over

Continue with a Smile

As there will be nothing left of me

And just to think,

The glass will still be empty.
