Empire State of Light by Maheen Asim

The Empire State of Light

What can one be in the city of dreams?
Should I be me or should I be she.

Limitless light surrounding
My hearts pumps constantly pounding

Never can I imagine a city better
constantly waiting for that acceptance letter

The endless talks between suits on wall street
Makes me realize I'm more than two feet

With people of all over
I felt as small as a clover

Floating in the city
I realized my destiny

Everyday I will work to come here
Or forever be unclear

Now it rains making all unreal
It's not just not a big deal

Out of the sunroof I am
Believing anything and everything I can

The Apple is there
Now I am here

Forever I will remember our date
And if we meet again, thank you fate.
