Emotions

They're inside, constantly swirling,Within, they taunt me daily.Emotions, they're constantly twirling,And they destroy me slowly. Love, I thought I had it,Only to be taken away.Hurt, now I have it,It fills me with great dismay. Sadness, now I have it,It shadows my every day.Insecurity, now I have it,And it blooms, as flowers of May. Courage, I had to find it,And thoroughly seek it out.Happiness, I had to find it,Like finding rain during drought. Fear, I used to have it,It used to swallow me whole.Joy, now I've found it,Filled in my heart, now is the hole. They're inside, constantly swirling,Within, I control them daily.Emotions, they're constantly twirling,And now they build me daily.
