Embers in the Ice

There are embers in the ice,
A haven below the glacial freeze,
It's warmth calls to the weary traveler:
"Save me, please."

It's light is encased in stone,
It's blaze but a fickle soul-token,
Each footstep taken tramples on above,
The ice never broken.

That ember weeps in sorrow,
Sobbing a mournful spark that cries,
As flames kiss its frozen prison once more,
Another life dies.

There are embers in the ice,
Trapped insight from the world above,
The passions that once burned now forgotten,
Forgotten of love.
