Like a Dystopia

Put on your masks; buy oxygen from cans
On the street rots cars and vans

(The world is ruined)

Tell your children how the Earth used to be
while it's crust rots out from underneath

(it will never be restored)

The things we love often die
but for her we shall mourn; cry

(Goodbye, sweet Earth)

Our toxic hands laid filth upon the land
Our greed slicked hearts blackened

(We didn't do you justice)

because this- this is how the world will end
not with a glorious bang
but a wh i sp e r
