A Dysfunctional Society

Location

I have always been told to

Never give into peer pressure,

But I have

Never been told to

Not pressure others.

The society in which we live in

Is dysfunctional.

Because

Airports see more sincere kisses

Than wedding halls.

The halls of hospitals have heard

More prayers

Than the walls of churches.

Horrific weather has felt more death

Resonate within their clouds

Than undertakers have felt on

Their fingertips.

And people do not realize that the atmosphere

Aching around them

Is not dysfunctional --

Society is.
