Drugs Over Everything.

Once you experience that first high,

Its hard to turn back.

Nothing matters anymore.

You get so deep into it,

You can't survive.

You forget about your family, Friends.

You forget you have a daughter,

Who is desperate for your attention.

You forget about your wife.

You steal things, sell things,

And get those drugs you so desperatly need.

You go to jail. Get clean. Get out and go back to the past.

You dwell in the negative.

Feel sorry for yourself.

Your wife says she going to leave you.

You ignore her bluff.

She loves you, so she doesn't leave you.

You go back to jail. Get clean. Get out. Go back.

Your wife leaves you.

Your devistated. The drugs become more important.

You get caught again, again, and again.

Your daughter visits you and asks

"daddy why are you in here?"

You lie to her.

You don't want to expose her more than she already has.

You get out. You go back to drugs.

This happens 6 more time.

You finally realize you need to get clean.

Its a struggle. Heroin is a monster.

You make it 5 years clean.

But you end up dying of something so simple.

If only you had stopped earlier.

You could have been alive longer.

If only you thought about getting clean for your daughter.

Now she suffers everyday that you aren't here.

She will struggle daily to not go down the same path.

She will suffer every wakeing moment

Because the drugs were more important.

But it was because of the very first high,

That changed everything.

Wow this poem is really good but depressing. A lot of pain and emotion. Please read my poems and tell me what you think.

Thank you. A lot if the things I write have a lot of personal pain and emotion in it. This particular one I wrote to get that emotion out. Everything that is said, actually happened. I will definitely read your poems
