That Door of White Light

Nevermore that door of white light

Which came and vanished in a day.

The stars shall never burn as bright.

It stood before me, black and white,

A door that spoke of a new way.

Nevermore that door of white light.

I turned my back on what was right

Like a child’s meek naïveté.

The stars shall never burn as bright.

When I returned to it that night,

I found it dull with death’s decay.

Nevermore that door of white light.

Queen Mab had locked and hid from sight

That door that spoke of that new way.

The stars shall never burn as bright.

From dawn to dusk, I’ll feel grief’s smite.

If only I had seized that day.

Nevermore that door of white light.

The stars shall never burn as bright.

I wrote this for school, but it can apply to many things. The theme is carpe diem/ decisions and consequences.
