Do You Truly Know...

Do you truly know your heart?

It beats, I know, it sings, I hear

It beckons to follow its wills

It flutters inside the chest like a hummingbird's wings

It soars to the sky like a feather on the breeze,

but when it hits the ground, it shatters into

a mililion pieces, like a mirror reflecting my deepest desires,

but no more than shards of what used to be

Do you truly know your heart?

That it is more than a simple part of you?

It can love, it can betray

It can be full or joy, or empty of life

It can be whole

It can just as easily be broken

It's the single, most important part of you
