Distance

My eyes see you

To see but never to be touched,

To know but never to be known

Knowing that you are for another

I long to see the sunlight;

The glow of your face

When I reach into the darkness,

But never face;

The pain that you may never see me

The hurt that life may never be,

A harmony that intertwines you and me.

Yet what is this life so hard?

To tell us to we be apart

To keep our souls trapped in cages,

Waiting for the night of blazes.

For when that fire comes along,

Our hearts united under the gong

That our life be heard all around the globe,

Just to stop another blow

To stand by each other and nurture one another

And be united like the lovers we are.

Yet a dream in the night;

That I must come to realize

Of you and me,

Where we would dance in the light

Never to be seen.

And I would caress you in the night,

Just one plight,

Could never keep me away from you

Or hold me tight;

And if you ever felt the same

I would never let you go,

In my arms you'd stay

Through all the fire and the pain

My soul would catch you,

For behind these bars I stay,

But with you

Forever will I remain.
