Disease Race

Sun, 04/06/2014 - 15:53 -- AviY

Born to walk but each sought the fight to run.

Thrown into the race, before one appreciated light of sun.

Humans evolve with an unknown disease.

Ignorance in absolve they live with false guarantees.

Learned to move toward the chase.

Get ahead-forward-then show your face.

Happiness rests for future success.

Waiting to be judged as the best.

Tragedy strikes before they cross,

The line that waits but only at their loss.

Stopping for the first time since they began.

They question why people always ran.

She got cancer, he was shot.

She overdosed, he was caught.

She had one month, his last stop was the ICU,

She died on the spot, he serves life in the “shoe”

Hurt as they learn people sometimes drop,

Worse is that the human race never stops.

Our ancestors sailed seven seas for our future ease.

We shunned the breeze, ridden with human disease.

The human race runs this race it will never win,

Aiming for the finish waiting to show a grin.

Ignored the beauty of the moment.

As they anticipated the glory that can’t be opened.

Human imitation overtook instinct.

As they all fought to be distinct.

Despair made them question first choice,

And to change- bravery is our voice.

Diseased as humans from start,

They cannot cure problems from their own heart.

Perhaps suffering is inevitable,

But avoiding bliss is unforgettable.

Society stop running and walk together,

Thus a community can be happy forever.

Eliminate the path that ignores the present,

So when they lose the race at least they won’t repent.
