Disease
It’s so cold here,
I feel like it’s ice,
This weight that’s bearing down,
It’s fast and precise.
I feel like it knows me,
As if we’re old friends,
But I know better than that,
As it breaks and it bends.
My whole heart is apart,
All open and coal,
I know better than that,
It has taken its toll.
This feeling inside,
It’s not new or exciting,
It has been here for awhile,
As I age and am dying.
