DIRTY PRISON CLOTHES

Fri, 09/25/2020 - 21:07 -- Nomad1c

They gave him twelve months
To serve that first year
Times ten made a decade
Stuck inside there.
Chip away the flesh
To reach a heart of stone
Always hang up angrily
That prison hell-a-phone.
.
First one···then both parents died
While he sat inside that cell
Adding to his guilt
Which led to endless hell.
.
So he walks his laps
And he circles his wagons
To lose his old ways
And to slay his old dragons
.
Finally released (into homelessness)
With no job and no money
On his way out they said...
"SEE YOU SOON"
While thinking it funny.
.
What's the worst that could happen?
Considering his plight
As he wanders 'round aimlessly
Through YOUR town at night.
.
What could go wrong
with that prison door's revolving?
But for Jesus and the Bible
And his soul now evolving.
.
Twisting in the winds of change
Where nothing really changes
Crossing mountains in bare feet
That open to more ranges.
.
"There's nothing to see here folks"
"Keep moving right along."
"Its just some homeless wanderer,
singing olden prison songs."
.
He's singing...
"SEE YOU SOON"
As you bolt up all your doors
Then you sweat out all your bullets
From out of all your pores.
.
NO JOB
NO MONEY
NO PARENTS
NO HOPE
.
NO SKILLS
UN COUNSELED
and no way to cope
.
They gave him twelve months
To serve that first year
Times ten made a decade
Now homeless in fear.
.
But he wanders right past
All your bolted up doors
Right into that church
Where he falls on all fours
.
With tears streaming down
His NOMADIC old face
Society sat screaming...
"WHAT A DISGRACE" !!!
.
Alas, judge not
Lest ye be judged the same way!
Would YOU have found church???
on YOUR release day???
.
Like David and Saul
and yes ol' Obadiah.
Like the Wise men who rode
to the baby Messiah.
As servants, they too
Made faith filled decisions
And chose narrow paths
From out if their prisons.
.
So be thankful old NOMAD
it's never too late
You'll not need to see
A rusty old gate.
.
Go find a church
And fellowship with those
Who have pasts washed away
like dirty prison clothes.
