Different Homes, Same Goals

You might have a place to go home to everyday

As well as a place to sleep at night

But who’s to say homeless people

Are any different than you are?

We all have our own problems,

Theirs have just led them somewhere different

We too much think but don’t know

That not all homeless people struggle with drugs

Because some suffer from abuse and have no other choice

So what is it that makes them so terrible?

Half of us don’t know what we’re doing with our lives

And are just trying to make it through

Yet we can’t find happiness in something

As simple as a smile like they can

The only major difference between the two

Is that you have a roof above your head

Meanwhile they have the sky

Holding not only them

But the entire world in place

And at the end of the day,

No matter how bad things are for them,

At least they still want to survive

And they know how to hold on to hope

Even if it might be because it’s the only thing they have left
