Diamonds Aren't Forever

They say diamonds are forever,
But this diamond has been shattered.
For its core is like a lever,
Pushed down until its mush on a platter.
Because its cycle is ruined,
It really can’t go on.
Body crevassed and grew in,
Left sinking at the bottom of a pond
