Determination

I am a fighter, that I know to be true

Though docile I seem at first glance, I burn brighter

Than the fire that eats all the air in the room

Than the sun beating down its hot rays at noon

It began as a spark, but then it grew

With every fall and break and failure too

I've fallen a lot but, one day I flew

And I hope that I do not fall to soon

My name is not Icarus but I am still tempted

To dance with the waves and challenge the sun

One day I will fall, this I've accepted

But I've a long way to go and I've only begun

This raging desire, this need for success

Fueled by the drawbacks and tears of my past

My will is unshakeable, unbreakable, unmistakeable

But only because (and may this be my testimonial);

My determination is the one thing that is keeping me alive

And when it burns out, I will fall

one last time.
