Despite what people say, i'll have a daughter one day.

Despite what people say, i'll have a daughter one day.

Maybe not by birth, but i’ll say one day.

She’ll have her mother’s eyes, of the color they’ll be.

Those eyes will tell the story of a life; A life full of glass pieces.

Pieces that hold memories, shattered fragments of every woman,

Carefully placed into consideration of her creation.

That piece there, long cole black silky hair.

Another over there, capturing a smile of smooth chocolate cheeks and pretty white teeth.

See now, this old glass won’t always hold sunshine.

In the midst of loss fairytales there will be life; of lies, crying smiles, and unpleasant goodbyes.

Of every woman carefully placed into consideration of her creation.

But she’ll see her mother’s Life, through those beautiful eyes of the color they’ll be.

An unspoken blue print of such a strong woman she’ll one day look in the mirror and see.

Despite what people say, i’ll have a daughter one day.
