Desperation

Desperation took me by the hand and led me down the gravel road

Pain made the humidity bearable and I went after what I was owed

Fear cleared a path and pushed my comfort zone all the way

Ambition took my feet for miles so I could find religion that day

Courage led me step by step to that old church door

But it was desperation is what got me here in the first place; to find out what life was worth living for.
