The demon inside of me

To the demon inside me.

I won’t start this letter off with dear because you’re no dear to me

For a long time I have avoided our history

But no more, I’ll open the door

I hope you’re ready for the light

I hope you’re ready for my fight

You should know the tale I'll tell when people ask

Maybe you can still charm them without your mask

I wouldn’t be surprised

People turn to putty across from your eyes.

I’ll make it short but understood

He was the one who took my childhood.

FIGHTING FIGHTING FIGHTING

HIDE, CLEAN, FIX

The house must be perfect for him

You must be perfect for him

Look pretty, be nice, behave

Be brave

because he will get you, his devil will come out and

BREAK BREAK BREAK

His mask will come off and

TAKE TAKE TAKE

Take away the fun

Take away the trust

Take my hopes and turn them to dust

You pushed us demon.

YOU pushed us away

We didn’t leave you

We’re apart now demon

And I hate it

Mostly I hate myself

For missing you

For loving you

I can’t help it though

You made me

You are half of me

You are the demon inside of me
