Deepest Fear

My deepest fear is not a room filled with spiders

My deepest fear is not being trapped in a box

My deepest fear is not what lurks in the night

My deepest fear is not humiliating myself during a speech

My deepest fear is not the men catcalling on the street

My deepest fear is not being dragged by the ocean tides

My deepest fear is not failing everyone I have ever loved

My deepest fear is...

My deepest fear is allowing the fear-filled thoughts control me

overcome me, take over my existence, become who I am.

My deepest fear is going back to the scared girl I once was.

Shaking and trembling at the sight of my fears.

Now, my deepest fear defeats fear itself.
