December Cold

December is here
The cold swirls around you
You snuggle deeper into your sweater
You pull on your gloves
Wrap your scarf a little tighter
Pull the hat down over your frozen ears
Walk across the tundra of ice and snow
To where you must go
Running now
You can’t wait till you find the warmth
Warmth the December wind likes to steal
The cold wind blows harder
Swirling cold ice and snow into your face
But still you know that Hot Chocolate awaits you
And that is worth the December cold
