Dear You, My Body

Dear You, My Body,

I’m sorry for when

When my eyes

Daggers

cut into you, my skin

ripping you, my soft stomach to shreds

When my cruel hands

painted nails, caked blood

pound into you, my sobbing thighs

When my curled lips,

refuse crumbs,

as they scream obscenities

at you, my unassuming arms.

When my mind

Destroys you, my soul

my relationships

my thoughts

my peace

my joy

When I poison you, my heart

spitting self-loathing like venom

When I make you sweat,

collapse from exhaustion

when I won’t give you, my body

sleep

or

food

When I burn holes into you, my wrists

I’m so sorry, you, my body.
