dear mountain standard time

dear mountain standard time

the desert is in itself

an oasis, an escape

from the monotony

of trees and grass

that plague the forest valley

they are all i have ever

known, truly

and my

allegiance

the oak leaves have

yet, i lust for

the sagey shrubbery

and mountains of rocks

the popcorn clouds

and rusty red dirt

that stretch for ages

beyond my eyes

which give me solace

give me rest

give me peace

in the vastness, the nothingness

away from my home

goodbye, ohio

hello, arizona
