Dear Mom

Dear Mom,

That day was the scariest day of my life.

  I remember that word

  Cancer.

It meant my world was crashing

  Down around me

And nothing would be the same.

I wish I knew just what that meant.

  That I’d be here now

That my future would be all about cancer

  And helping

And so lucky that you’re right there

  Cheering me on

And telling me that it’s okay

  To use that scary time

  To inspire my future

  Thank you, Mom.

I hope I make you proud, Mom.

  I love you, Mom.

Love,

Your future Oncology Social Worker.
