Dear Lunch Ladies:

Sun, 09/07/2014 - 22:27 -- Farhat

You want me to consume this?

Processed meat and plastic cheese

Eat that disastrous meal?

Who do you think I am?

I must be another snotty kid standing in line to you

Privileged to a point it’s disgusting

But there is so much more

When I make a mess I clean it up

When I hurt someone I apologize

When I want something I say please

Because I was taught manors as a child

Weren't you?

Or do you not care enough, respect us enough, to use yours?

After all we are just a bunch of rich brats who play games on our iPhones all day

We apparently don’t understand how the world works

Sometimes it hurts to think that’s how you see me

We all have our moments

But witnessing a good moment is harder than it seems

You assume I am not worthy of your time

Or maybe you feel like you have no time

But if you can hear me

I say slow down

Stop

Smile

After all, studies show you’ll live longer with a smile

Let me know that you can hear me

Otherwise I won’t want to say please and thank you

How do you expect me to respect you when no one respects me?

We are the next generation

So stop feeding us crap
