Dear Dad

Dear Dad,

I hear about you often.

I hear you loved me very much. I hear that you were an amazing man.

I hear that you loved my mother more than any other.

But all I ever do is listen.

Listen to the countless stories told about a dad who could have been.

Listen to the cries of my widowed mother, who wishes you didn't go.

I listen...and I wonder what life would be like.

I wonder if you'd love me if you were still alive.

I wonder if my mother would be happy. I wonder if she'd still have depression.

I wonder if she would have played with me instead of mourning you 18 years later.

I wonder if the world would be a better place.

Most of all I wonder if life is better without you.

Dad,

I do miss you.

I miss the thought of you

But I'm ready to let you go.

I'm ready to move on with my life.

I'm ready for my mom to move on with her life too.

I do hope you watch over me till the very end.

Don't worry I won't forget you.

I won't let you have died in vain.

I will make you proud.

I promise that when people ask of you

I'll tell them you were a good man.

I love you and I wish you all the best wherever you are.

I hope you protect me when I need you

But I'm ready for you to let me and my mom go.

I'm ready.

Don't worry I won't forget you.

I won't let you have died in vain.

I will make you proud.

I promise that when people ask of you

I'll tell them you were a good man.

I love you and I wish you all the best wherever you are.

I'll find you in my next life and I hope we grow closer

Your one and only daughter,

Iridiam
