Dear Covid-19

Dear Covid-19,

First there was social distancing.

Don't get any closer to me, please.

Please keep at least six feet

Between us.

Now is the quarantine.

Stay safe. stay clean.

Please, no visiting.

Only go outside when you need.

You've taken me away

From my friends and my loved ones.

And now every day

I look out the window to the shining Sun.

It's so beautiful outside,

But here I am forced to reside

Inside.

When people come by

I've got to hide.

This has been a heck of a ride,

A rollercoaster of emotions that you've taken me on.

And now you've crushed our wills

So I concede, I've been beat, you won.

Now please, Covid-19,

Let us out of quarantine.

This poem is about:
Me
My community
My country
Our world
