Deafening Actions

That look from the barista.

Is he judging my choice of coffee or undressing me with his eyes?

The boy I like just nudged me.

is he into me or did he not even notice me there?

Her tears, joyful or miserable?

His crossed arms, defiant or insecure?

My own nap in English class, sleep-deprived or disrespectful?

Actions speak louder than words

and I can't hear anything over that look from the barista.
