Darkness

Darkness is around me,

I am hidden from the light,

The life that I strive to live in.

There was once a Bright Star,

It penetrated the dark.

The pain disappeared,

My life was healed.

The star left on its way,

And back came the pain,

Back came the shadow,

The life-sucking darkness.

I am shrouded in the dark,

The world doesn’t notice,

I can hide it like a master.

My own family is unaware

Of this darkness that I share,

Of this pain that I can’t bear.

I’m searching for a light,

Something shining in the night,

But all I’m rewarded with is darkness,

And I’m punished with more pain.
