Darkness

Love,

Love,

That is what tied me to the living,

I look back now and realize it was her,

Her all along,

Rose,

It was her who brought me back form the darkness,

I remember calling her name out in the darkness,

She ripped me from it and stoked the the fire in me that had previously gone out,

She had loved me like no one before,

Then the rains came,

He came,

He rained on my heart and it shortly sputtered out before her,

I saw the way she looked at him,

My name was mud,

My existence held her back,

Their love blossomed as my pain increased,

She tried to reassure me,

I gave her nothing,

I let her be free,

But loneliness swelled in me,

The gun across the counter called me back to the darkness,

And I answered.
