The Danger of Strangers

Don't talk to strangers! They're dangerous ye' hear;
thieves and rascals they are,
keep away from 'em me dear.
Don't smile or signal,
keep yer eyes to the floor.
No communication,
least ye' be tricked or enthralled!

The dangers of the nameless
are all too real these days...
Never have I e'er
met a stranger that was sane.
Its not their fault dear child,
they can't help it ye' see,
A stranger is hollow thing
without name or home or creed.

It takes strength to face a faceless chap,
to act all normal-like and talk,
but nary the will of the gods themselves could save ye' from that discourse.
Once ye' utter a eency word,
they'll blitz ye' with their speech!
Nice-te-meat-ye' this
and hope-te-see-ye' that.
Before you know
you'll be ten feet deep
in social tit-for-tat!
Strangers are a danger dear, believe me when I say,
I've faced a few of them sullen blokes and have nought for my pains.

Folk these days are scary child,
like pirates in the streets,
goodness knows you'd suffer dear if ever ye' were to meet!
If ye' ever see one coming, or hear em down the road, make away like lighting love,
for strangers love their prose.
They'll hook ye' in like whalers, dear,
and won't let ye' free
til you've told them all they wish to know
and heard and they wish to hear.

Strangers are a danger love.
The whole lot of 'em ye hear?
For strangers lead to greetings
and hellos to conversation,
and by talking to a stranger
you'll feel the obligation
to talk and be talked to,
to answer their lobby.
Before y'know you'll be talkin'
'bout the weather, ye' past or hobbies...

Ne'er say I didn't warn ye' dear,
for strangers are a trend.
Once ye' get to know 'em,
all you're left with is friends...
