Daddy

Daddy’s away,

With back to back deployments.

Mama's scared,

Of being alone.

Daddy’s home,

He can fight no longer.

Mama’s worried,

Sometimes she feels all alone.

Daddy has PTSD,

His battle is within.

Mama tries,

To help him win.

Daddy struggles,

Three babies and a wife depending on him.

Mama’s heartbroken,

Trying to do it all and be there for him.

Daddy has nightmares,

But they slowly start to fade.

Mama’s afraid,

Of hope but excited for the change.

Daddy’s better now,

Though the scars will never fade.
