Dear Loneliness

Mon, 02/05/2018 - 04:25 -- Cathrn3

Dear Loneliness,

     You know me well

I see you, I hear you, I touch you,

In the shadows where you dwell.

I see you in my mother's eyes,

When my father leaves on his trips agains

And I lock myself away, behind this broken disguise.

I hear you in my friends' laughter,

As I stand, quietly fading away

And continue to not even matter, as they continue to chatter.

I touch you in my lover's lips,

My lover, whom I feel so distant towards,

Even when he's right there, standing at my fingertips.

Only you, Loneliness, do you know my heart.

Only you, Loneliness, until death do we part.
