Dîner

Every night I ate

Something new from my plate

Every night I sat at the table

While my mom slaved in the kitchen

Every night I sat at the table

And enjoyed the fruits of someone else's labor

Every night I sat and waited

Until one day the food never came

Now every night I slave in the kitchen

This poem is about:
Me
My family
