Curious Cats & Crocodile Tears

I’ve been missing you like crazy,

You’ve been on my mind lately,

I know it sounds cliche,

Things people always say,

As much as I hate common expressions,

To be different  I’ve made my profession,

But when I’m with you I don’t mind the Hallmark scenes, the cheesy day-dreams,

Everyone tells me “stay away from him”

And indeed, last time you did win

In this game of love that people make

Where everybody is fake.

Little do they know that together is where I’m most real,

Although you broke our deal,

We’ve had time to heal,

So I’m writing this appeal,

Hoping someday together our fates we’ll seal.

Everybody tells me “stay away from him”

And indeed, last time you did win

In this game of love that people make

Where everybody is fake

Now I’m dying to know,

If your true feelings you did show,

Or if curiosity will kill this cat,

Because your feelings were flat

And fake, a way to boost your self-confidence,

Proceeding without a backward glance.

Guess they were right...

I’ll stay away from you,

I guess we’re through,

So I don’t want your crocodile tears,

You proved to be the worst of my fears.
