To Curiosity, Since I Wonder How You'd Respond
Dear Curiosity,
Stop it.
Stop making me hungry
to discover the entire world around me.
Stop giving me the mentality of
“you'll never know unless you try".
My friend Anxiety talks about you-
talks about wanting me to stop being friends with you.
As much as I want to abandon you,
I've realized that you have changed my life with periods of trial and error.
I've come to learn that you mean well,
even if you make everything complicated.
You know what I mean:
The friendships, the love of food, everything I say and do.
When people ask why I do these things,
I have no reason other than “Curiosity made me do it".
While I've has success, I've also had failures:
The friendships, the disdain of food, everything I say and do.
Perfection gets very mad at me.
Perfection hates you too.
Your only friend is Nostalgia,
who craves the experiences established
within vivid memories that overshadow
treasonous conspiracies rooted in the past.
I can’t bear the risks and pains, but
Curiosity, please:
don’t leave me just yet- there’s so much to be discovered.
Sincerely,
the mess you have to deal with.
