The Cross

On calvarys hill just one alone,

but how is this the truth be shown?

You gave me life.

Death must now flee;

You stand knowing you've conquored he.

How can I repay such a debt?

I lay myself in sentiment.

Your light shines out for those,

who see the vast plain of eternity.

How great you are!

All must know.

Even the Earth declares it so.

O mighty cross you watch,

over me.

Like a lighthouse to the sea.

I hear your song!

You comfort me.

Creation bows it's knee to thee.

O gentle lamb white as snow,

what is it that I shall know?

You have one truth.

What can it be?

As I look out to the sea,

I heard the words you spoke to me.

Bright as day, clear as can be,

"Pick up your cross and follow me."
