At the Cross

1 Corinthians 1:18    New English Translation

The Message of the Cross

18 For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing,

but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God.

At the Cross where I died, and my flesh turned to dust

Selfish passions and desires were appointed to the grave

To be buried there without any form or other ceremony

Dead in Christ, I should be, being set free and not a slave

I never was my own, you know,  I belonged to that old serpent

Who claimed me, and he owned me, and I did not even know

Dangling in the wind in my self-chosen form of confusion

I was so overpriced in thought with all the seeds I sowed

Lost in time and space and just going in circles

No stopping thereof the destiny labeled hell

But then all of a sudden came the resurrection

In Christ Jesus, I found life in the Living Well
