Critters

Tue, 12/08/2015 - 19:10 -- lehcar

As a young girl I wouldn't have been surprised if a roach came crawling out of my mouth

As a young girl I wouldn't been surprised if my pillow was made out of rats.

As a young girl I wouldn't have been surprised if a raccoon was my best friend.

As a young girl I wouldn't have been surprised if my mom disappeared for a week

As a young girl I wouldn't have been surprised if I covered head to toe in dirt

I see the critters as they crawl

There is no difference between the critters and I

I'll crawl too.

I'll eat off the floor

I'll steal food

I'll survive

I'll become a critter too

A critter I became

A critter I did not stay

I say goodbye to all of my friends

But hopefully I do not become a critter again.
