Creeping up day by day. Depression comes tapping on the glass of my bedroom window.
"Hey, look this way," the deepest darkest monster of them all was whispering.
Grab that knife
Grab the pills
Grab the razor
Grab something that will take your life
I waited and waited for the demon to go
I kept waiting and waiting, but he wouldn't leave
He stayed and stayed
Then one day, I decided to let the blood drip
The blood ran and ran from wrist to middle of my arm
I looked out the window and saw he was no longer there
I smiled with the content of him being gone
but my smile soon
F
A
D
E
D
and then my eyes slowly shut
Pitch darkness..
Nothing for long miles until...
The light came back.
I snapped my eyes open and saw I was no longer in my dark bedroom, but a bright hospital room
I looked over at my mom and she had tears in her face and a huge smile.
I sighed and looked out the window.
"Hey, look this way," I heard her say
I looked at her and it wasn't my mom, but the same depression monster
I closed my eyes and took a big breath
Then, I realized I was in my room and it was a normal day
It seemed nothing has happened at all
Day after day
Night after night
Everything seemed normal again.
Each and every night the monster returned, I remained strong and didn't give in to his acqusations.
I was stronger then the darkest demons and I smiled when one day the monster didn't appear in my window.
I smiled more and didn't look back.
I had defeated the biggest baddest monster and I was truly happy
I still moved on even after the monster consumed my mom and took her and my sister away, that was when I promised to not leave this earth due to the depression monster
I fought and I won and started another life.
