contemporary tennis

why are all the emo bands

about fathers and sports?

dad punchers

modern baseball

dads

american football

number one dads

what's better than that

guys being dudes?

i fuel my misery with miserable art

is it better to stew in the sadness or to deal

can i deal?

dylan gets it

sends me hours of tunes to cry to

smoke to

die to

i can't turn waxahatchee off

she plays when my headphones aren't connected

commiserating

we're not worth it

we can't breathe

we're never too young to be unhappy

and we play with fire

and get burned

sad girls on sad girls on sad boys

how could i let myself get destroyed

for years i was ok

i was alive

and now i'm away from home

and my adopted support system is failing

fading

abandonning and pretending he's here

won't kiss me now but turns off my sad music hoping

making wishes on eyelashes that i will be able to find the happiness that he can't

when will i be alive again
